Artemide, lightings made for humans well-being.

Artemide is one of the major actors in the lightings market. Floor lamps, pendant lights, wall lamps, table lamps... Its range of lamps is wide and constantly expanding. Never common, it surprises, amazes and above all seduces a large public.

Created in 1960 by Ernesto Gismondi and Sergio Mazza, this great Italian group settled in Pregnana Milanese has established itself over the years as "the" reference in the professional and individual high-end lighting field.

To reach that level, the brand made the choice to give a whole new dimension to lamps. They aren't only considered as ways of lighting a room, rather as true decorative objects on their own. "Turning light into an element capable of improving each one life's quality, while offering a higher visual precision and a lower environmental impact", this is the philosophy guiding Artemide's creations. And it's during the 90's that the designer Carlotta de Bevilacqua leads that concept, in her project entitled "The Human Light".

The entreprise provides itself with the means to success, by hiring numerous designers. Famous ones participate to the Artemide's collections : the british-egyptian Karim Rashid, the Italian Michele de Lucchi as well as the French Bruno Houssin. As for some lamps, they have become iconic and can even be admired in renowned international design museums. Eclisse, Tolomeo, Melampo, Nur, Pipe, Cadmo… all those creations are best-sellers and had an impact on contemporary design History. Oftenly rewarded, Artemide has become one of the more prestigious lighting brands worldwide.
